AMOXICILLIN (amoxycillin) is a penicillin antibiotic. It kills or stops the growth of some bacteria. This medicine is used to treat many kinds of infections. It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

• kidney disease

• pregnant or trying to get pregnant
• breast-feeding

How should I use this medicine?

Take this medicine by mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Shake well before using. Use a specially marked spoon or dropper to measure every dose. Ask your pharmacist if you do not have one. Household spoons are not accurate. This medicine can be taken with or without food. It can be mixed with a small amount of infant formula, milk, fruit juice, water, or other cold beverage. The mixture should be taken immediately. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Finished the full course prescribed by your doctor even if you think your condition is better. Do not stop taking except on your doctor's advice.

Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.

Amoxicillin Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
